Arrest Modi for ‘violating’ RPA: JD(U)
- The Janata Dal has demanded the arrest of the Narendra Modi, for poll code violation by flashing the BJP symbol outside the polling booth where he voted in Ahmedabad.
- Citing the examples of BJP’s Amit Shah and Samajwadi Party’s Azam Khan, who had been banned from addressing rallies in Uttar Pradesh for delivering “inflammatory speeches,” Mr. Tyagi said while action against the two leaders was welcomed by all, the ban on Mr. Shah was withdrawn later, which “raised doubts over the Election Commission’s impartiality against a particular party.”
