Tewari says sorry,Gadkari withdraws defamation suit
- Nitin Gadkari withdrew a defamation case against I&B minister Manish Tewari following the Congress leaders apology.
- In November 2010,Tewari had alleged that Gadkari held a benami flat in the Adarsh housing society.
Gadkari's counsel Rameshwar Gite,in his submission before court,had said Tewari made false allegations against Gadkari only to divert media attention.
- In a written apology submitted in court,Tewari said,I understand that by such statements you have had to suffer huge disrepute and had to face uncomfortable situation within your party and society.Therefore,by this communication,I tender my unconditional apology for the allegations made against you.
