Indicating bleak poll prospects for the Congress in Seemandhra,
empty chairs greeted Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday on her
maiden visit to the state after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh was
proclaimed.

The poor turnout at the public meeting further dampened the spirits
of party candidates in the region, coming as it did just a day after
BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed a huge
rally here.
