promises adequate security for World Economic Forum

Nigeria on Friday assured that it will provide adequate security
arrangements during the World Economic Forum on Africa, which begins
May 7 in Abuja.

The government would provide adequate security for participants,
Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala told a news conference in
Abuja, the country’s capiotal, Xinhua reported.

His remark came after some countries expressed concern over security
issues, following a blast in Abuja, which left at least 19 people
dead.

Ms. Okonjo-Iweala said President Goodluck Jonathan would make a
statement on the forum and security issues shortly.
