- The stage has been set for the second phase of polling for 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Seemandhra from 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

- About 3.68 crore electorate, including 57 lakh new voters, are expected to exercise their franchise for 333 contesting candidates of Parliamentary seats and 2,241 candidates for the Assembly seats in fray, said Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal here on Tuesday.

- A TV channel ran a story that TDP Guntur Lok Sabha candidate Galla Jayadev had packed up and was about to close down his office, hours before the polling commences.

- Jayadev Galla himself condemned the report, saying it was a fabricated one.

- “It shows the desperation in the rival camp. The Election Commission needs to have a relook at the ownership of media houses owned by political parties and take up stringent steps to stop slanderous campaigns,” Jayadev said.

- Only TRS seems to be preparing for activity after counting of votes for the six municipalities and the MTPCs and ZPTCs for which elections were held in March and April.

- Congressmen have already expressed reluctance in maintaining camps of its elected members after the results are declared

- TRS is holding meetings with its MLA candidates to hand them over that responsibility.

- “We have to ensure that our winning candidates are not poached by other parties. We want to see our leaders in the top posts in municipalities, Mandal Parishads and the Zilla Parishad,” Loka Bhuma Reddy said.

- “Maintaining camp entails huge expenditure on the winner candidates. We have already exhausted our resources in the MLA election,” revealed a Congress candidate.

- TRS has also launched of identifying probables for the post of municipal chairpersons in the municipalities of Adilabad, Nirmal, Bhaina, Mancherial, Bellampally and Kagaznagar as also in respective Mandal Parishads and the ZP.
